The Moot Court Project

Founded in 2014, the Moot Court Project is an interactive seminar in Long Beach designed to develop critical thinking and persuasive skills for disadvantaged youth. Volunteer attorneys help to teach legal writing, oral argument and advocacy to students, as well as serving as judges. 

2020 Essay Contest

The 2020 Moot Court Project Essay Contest will begin December 16th, 2020. Key dates are included below:

(Optional) Drafts Due: January 22, 2021

 

Edited Drafts Returned: January 29, 2021

 

Final Essay Deadline: February 8, 2021

 

Winners Announced: February 22, 2021

 

Recognition Event: TBD February 2021

Looking for ways to support the Project besides volunteering?

 

In addition to Volunteer Coaches and Judges, we are looking for assistance in providing prizes and recognition for our top performing participants. This can come in the form of a financial contribution to the program, item or in-kind donation, or offering to host an intern at your firm.
